SubscriberHi everyone,
Â
I am currently working on a modulation design in Lumerical INTERCONNECT where we aim to monitor the frequency shift in optical sidebands using the Optical Spectrum Analyzer (OSA). However, I am currently facing challenges in accurately resolving these sidebands.
Â
Problem Description:
• I am using a continuous wave laser source set at a central frequency of 193.5 THz.• When applying a sine wave of 2.3 GHz, the expected sideband should appear at 193.5023 THz, but the OSA shows it only at   193.502 THz.• Increasing the RF signal to 2.31 GHz still results in the sideband being displayed at 193.502 THz, whereas it should be at  193.50231 THz.• Interestingly, when I set the laser frequency to 1 THz or lower optical frequency, the sidebands are generated and resolved correctly in the OSA.    So, I am currently not able to see the shift in sidebands in with accuracy and precision, when the Laser central frequency is set at high optical frequency of 193.5 THz. I have tried increasing the number of samples in the simulation by increasing sampling rate, but still same issue. Could you please advise on the appropriate simulation parameters or any other methods required to achieve higher resolution and accuracy in sideband analysis. -

Ansys Employee@roysaurav.ju,
To debug the issue, please assist us with the following:Â
Which operating system and version are you running on? Which release / version of Lumerical are you using? Please send a screenshot of the Lumerical CAD > Help > About .. page - which provides these information (similar to the image here). Â
Thank you!Â
