I applied the prescribed_motion_set to a moving elastic rod, which is in contact with another material. The set defined is one end of the rod, and the set is constrained so that it would only move in y-direction. However, when two parts got in contact, the tool started to move z-direction (upwards) as well. I have double checked that DOF is defined as EQ.2: y-translational DOF. It there any other posisble reason that might lead to this issue?

Hello, have you included the *BOUNDARY_SPC_SET keyword for that node set? To allow only for translation in Y, all the DOFs need to be fixed apart from the Y translational.
