Hello everyone,
I want to embed two sensors in a CFRP sandwich structure. Therefore, I used the geometry and settings as seen below. However, when measuring total deflection the sensors don't bend with the CFRP panel. For me, it seems as if they are not a part of the sandwich structure. Does anyone know how to embed sensors with different element sets than the prepreg plies in a CFRP panel? I want those sensors in between layer 2 - 3 and 4 - 5 respectively.
Thank you very much!

It sounds like the issue might be due to the sensor elements not being properly coupled with the CFRP layers. When embedding sensors in a CFRP sandwich structure, ensure they are defined as part of the same element set or connected using appropriate adhesive or bonding elements to ensure they bend with the structure.

Thank you very much! I will have a look at this.
