Hi,
I have performed a simulation on Steady state tubulent flow of air. My residuals are as flowing. I have also checked the pressure in my inlet (as control point and it is steady) it changes a few Pa in each itteratioin.
the fact that my mass residuals are so high (3e-2) means my simulation is not converged and I cannot use the rsults? (despite that other parameters reached 1e-5 in residuals?
December 2, 2020 at 11:03 amKeyur KanadeAnsys EmployeeResiduals does not necessary define convergence. Please create a monitor for a variable like outlet temperature etc and check the convergence. nPlease search on forum for similar posts. nRegards,nKeyurnHow to access Ansys Online Help DocumentnHow to show full resolution imagenGuidelines on the Student CommunitynHow to use Google to search within Ansys Student CommunitynDecember 2, 2020 at 11:14 ammeseSubscriberHi,nYes, the mass residuals are so high and that may (but not necessarily) imply that the results are invalid or highly inaccurate. Without knowing the details of your model, I cannot say what the cause is and how significant is its effect on the results. nDecember 2, 2020 at 1:18 pmKeyur KanadeAnsys EmployeeThanks nAppreciate your response. nWe encourage users to participate more in the forum. nRegards,nKeyurnHow to access Ansys Online Help DocumentnHow to show full resolution imagenGuidelines on the Student CommunitynHow to use Google to search within Ansys Student CommunitynViewing 3 reply threads- The topic ‘is this simulation converged?’ is closed to new replies.
