SubscriberHi,Â
I am new to ANSYS and doing static analysis for tensile test. May I know whether the stress values (equivalent von-mises stress) Â that I get after simulation are engineering stress or true stress and can I straight away compare with experimental test results?
Thank you very much.

SubscriberHi Daniel,
We insert true stress vs strain curve values in material property. So output stress is true stress and yes, you can compare with experimental test. But you can extract maximum principal stress instead of von-mises. Because von-Mises stress is combination of all stress. Also perform single element test for comparison if you have engg stress strain data.
