July 9, 2024 at 10:55 pmFatemeh KaramiSubscriberHi,ÂI have a question about a parametric optimization Python script related to the "Inverse Design of Y-Branch" (https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042305274-Inverse-design-of-y-branch). Instead of immersing the Y-branch structure in SiO2 material, if I consider a substrate layer of SiO2 and a top layer of air for the Y-branch structure, what should I set as eps_out for FunctionDefinedPolygon in the Python code?ÂThank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi Fetemeh,
Thank you for posting your question. eps_out can be simply set as 1 in the script. It should match the material properties outside of the structure, within the same thickness as the optimized objects.
