interrogate the dpm sampling file from LES simulation

I extracted the dpm sampling data from LES simulation.

the simulation time has been run for 39 seconds and it is stable and converged well, based on the flame temperature and velocity profiles.

What I tried to do is to show the particle concentration through .dpm file.

in dpm file, each data point show the parcel mass, velocity, temperature, diameter, etc..

I can use matlab to postprocess the data and show particle mass in certain location (0.2mm*0.2mm square), which can reduce mesh size impact as much as I can and accommodate the largest particle in the flow (5-200um). I use scatter to plot the mass here. so you can see how particles spread on this plane.

      HOWEVER:

One strange thing happens at ~38.642s. the number of data increases from ~10,000 to ~100,000. as you can see from the figures above. in the second figure, lots of particle are outside of the domain. then it imposes a serious question on my result: whether the results are reliable.

      please give me some suggestion.
