I would like to know on:
1. how set up a simple test circuit to obtain power output over certain period of time
2. check for SNR
This is important as I am calculating to get the Detection Limit (DL) for my optical waveguide sensor.
Formula -> DL = delta Noise Level / Sensitivity (unit in RIU)
delta Noise Level = minimum measurable signal change in my sensor
I have created a simple optical waveguide sensor using Lumerical MODE and created a idf file for it. Attached is the screenshot of the circuit test for my waveguide.Â
My otpical waveguide sensor is just a simple optical passive component.
But to check for SNR & to obtain power output over time, i need to modify it into active components?
Please advise on how to do it. Thanks.Â

Hello,Â
Apologies for the delay in response. We missed this post.Â
Could you please elaborate a bit more about what will be end device? is it a waveguide sensor? it will help me to understand a bit more.Â
In order to calculate SNR, you have to do the simulation in time domain.Â
Thanks and regards
