Integration lines or U Axis Line for circular and rectangular ports

I am working on a waveguide simulation from lower to higer modes.

I would like to know how to define the integration lines and how to choose U axis for 1 to 5 mode for circular and rectangular ports.

Additionally, please clarify whether both settings are necessary or if a single choice is sufficient.

I watched the official YouTube lectures, but they didn't specify them.

      Thank you!

      Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Ansys learning forum, your patience is much appreciated.

The integration line can be used to specify the field orientation for the mode. This option can be used if the user is certain of the field direction. Even if this is not defined, HFSS calculates the modes during the analysis and determines the mode polarity.

Since the rectangular or circular waveguides are standard geometry, the propagating modes and their field orientation can be found from the standard textbooks and other online literature.

For defining modes using coordinate systems, please go through "Align Modes Analytically Using Coordinate System" section of the HFSS help document.

      Best regards,
      Praneeth.
