Good morning, i dowloaded Ansys for student, started the installation but at the end i received the message:

Please insert the disk 0 that contains the file data5.cab.

In the installation forlder there is not any file like that. 

Could receive any help fro some one please?

This can be due to corrupt files, can you please download and have a fresh installation for Electronics?

No no, this is not true. In the folder dowloaded is missing the file data.5

I tried to dowload two time and each time this file missing.

Any help?

Hi Savino,

You installed an ISO image right? 

Can you please extract the file and then point the setup to that extracted file?

Please confirm if you are following these steps:

• Windows - Extract the contents of the ISO file to a temporary directory, using an archiving utility such
as Winrar, Winzip, or 7zip. Run setup.exe from the top level folder.
• Linux - Mount the image, using "mount -o loop -t iso9660 filename.iso /mnt/iso" command. Run
"./INSTALL" from the top level folder

Hi, I will try. But now by following the link above i need to know some info:

Account Number(Customer Number). Where i can found it?

When i dowloade the software for the first time i never had need

Hi, i did. SAme issue. Is missing the file:

data.5.cab

in the folder: AnsysEMSV.

Can some one send to me this file please.

Hi Savino,

You need right-clicked on setup.exe and run it as admin. Did you do it?

for sure, this is not the first time i install a software

can some one try to dowload the software and check if in the folder there is this kind of file called:

data.5.cab

this is the problem

There is no file as data.5.cab, it is working fine for me.

Can you go to event viewer and check if any Error is shown?

Go to START > Event Viewer > Expand the Windows Logs and choose Application.

I went there and i found one error as attached.

How can I fix now this. First time for me.

I remuved the anti-virus software from my laptop, tried to install again the software and at the end the same windows error was showed to me but now there are no error in event log.

Hi Savino,

Can also try to rename the Ansoft folder, goto Documents-->Ansoft rename it to Ansoft.old and try again to reinstall. Also in event viewer check application and security logs both to see if any error gets logged into it.

hi, I have exactly the same problem, data5.cab file is not in the AnsysEMSV folder. Did you solve it?

Nothing above worked for me neither

Hi, i didnt fix it. I will try to install the software on one more laptop.
