SubscriberHi,
I am currently working on converting a COMSOL model to and ANSYS model. In my model, I have a material that has a Young's Modulus value that changes with position that I was able to define in COMSOL using an interpolated table. I have tried and tried to do the same thing in ANSYS, but position is not an available field position, so I am trying to import a .xml file with this data into the engineering material library to see if this will work. I exported an .xml file from COMSOL but when I try to import it, I receive a notice from ANSYS that it could not read the data. I have tried this with a .xml file exported from COMSOL that only cotained a simple material to see if this was also the case, and it did not work for either the simple material and the material with the Young's Modulus based on position. Any thoughts on how I can import this .xml file properly or edit it from the COMSOL export so that it can work?
Thanks!

Ansys EmployeeHi,
The material .xml file from Comsol might have a different structure or different materials property names, than materials records in Ansys. Maybe open the .xml file from Comsol into a text editor and compare to an exported Ansys .xml file. You can find some examples and explanations in the following links:
