Implement a user defined Magnetic Field to do further Simulation with

      Hello,

I am new to Ansys and for my current project I am wondering if there is any possibility to implement a user defined magnetic field in Ansys to do further simulation with.

For my Application, let's say I have a matrix of Tesla-Values which i want to transfer into Ansys and maybe interpolate values in between the given ones. I want to use this magnetic field to simulate the effects it is having on other objects. Is there any way this is possible?

I was able to create nearly homogenic B-Fields by creating Helmholtz-Coils or a simple long coil with currents in Maxwell. But with this approach I can't create the exact representation of the magnetic field I want to achieve and work with.

I would be grateful for any help, i hope this is the right channel for my question since this is my first post.

      Thank you,

      Joshua

      Hello,

The Helmholtz-Coils and PMs are used to define magnetic field excitations. Maxwell cannot take specific field data as the input. Please check LS-DYNA, it should be able to do this.

Do you know any Details on how to import such field data in LS-DYNA? I did some research and could not quite find an answer.. I only found out that it seems possible to import this kind of data in Fluent.

        Thank you in advance,

        Joshua

          Hi Joshua,

I only know there were some people did similar work in LS-DYNA, but not the details. Did you find out how to do it? If not, please post the question on LS-DYNA /Fluent block.

          Thanks,

          GL

          Hi Gluo,

Thanks for your help, I did not find a way to do it yet. I posted the question on the LS-DYNA Channel.

Thank you for your recommendation! I will take a look into LS-DYNA.
