I’m working on simulation of heat flow through a cubic rock bed of granite,

I actually need assistance on how to go about it

Is there a flowing fluid, or is it "solid" rock?

The bed is made up of granite with air as the working fluid flowing through it.

I intend simulating a cubical and cylindrical rock bed.

OK, given granite is what we'd typically consider as an impermeable solid I assume pressure drop is going to be high. Do you have permeability data or are you wanting to model the pore structure?

I intend varying the permeability/porosity. I will want to private chat you so that we can discuss it extensively. And to see how the porosity affects pressure drop and heat transfer through the medium.

I can only respond via the Forum: it's one of the Rules from Legal to allow staff to answer. If you've got a commercial licence you can contact the licence provider for support - I don't know where (or who) you are so it could be Ansys directly or a Channel.

I need a guide from developing the geometry to carrying out the actual simulation. I'm a beginner in Ansys, and I know it will be a bit difficult.

Though, I understand what the expected results will be from a practical angle. I actually needed a tutor.

Which I can't provide via the Forum. I can point you at the various Learning resources and answer questions (to as high a level as I'm permitted).

The starting point from a modelling project is to decide what you need to know from the results, and also what you can afford (time and cpu) to spend. So, geometry could be a porous media, or it could come from micro-CT. That then guides the mesh and solver set up.

Ok. I really appreciate. I want to be able to first generate the geometry for a cuboid and cylindrical bed.

If you can help me with materials to achieve that. I will be very grateful

Look in Learning (left side menu here). You can create geometry in Discovery or in a CAD tool of your choice to transfer to Discovery. So, have a look in the Geometry, Meshing, CFD and Fluent courses. There are also tutorials in https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/public/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/main_page.html?hl=f under the products (Discovery, Meshing and Fluent). For Meshing you have options, I'd suggest Fluent Meshing as it's more useful in the long term.
