Hi everyone,
I work on a floating structure separated in three parts. These three parts are linked with ball joint. I run hydrodynamic analysis on Ansys Aqwa and I want to link the hydrodynamic pressure from Ansys Aqwa to a static structural analysis on Ansys Mechanical.
But Ansys Mechanical forces me to choose only one part for the mapping of hydrodynamic pressure and therefore I can’t map hydrodynamic pressure on the other two parts. Because of the ball-and-socket joints I need, I can't merge the three parts in only one structure.
Could you please help me to map the hydrodynamic pressure on all the parts of my floating structure?
Thank you.

Hello,
You will need to set up 3 separate Static Structural analyses sharing the same structural model, then create a Hydrodynamic Pressure object in each analysis to map the loads separately on to each structure. Then you can use Solution Combination (right-click on Model and Insert > Solution Combination) to create a single result (e.g. stress plot) over all three structures.
I hope this helps!
Mike
