SubscriberHi i want to simulate the impact of an steady airflow on a near cealing-monted cooling radiator as seen in the scetch.
In order to compare the Impact i want to do 2 simulations one with an external fixed airflow and one where only the natural convection of the radiator cool the airÂ
The radiator has a fixed cooling perfomrance for the starting conditions of around 2,8kW.
I´m unsure how to model the Radiator itself as i can´t use a realistic Model due to Cell- and Hardware limitations.
Is it possible to define a plane or a fluid volume where the Heattransfer is put in as fixed values. and the Inputtemperatur gets taken from surrounding cells as well as the actuall mass flow that originates from the density difference above and below the radiator?
I hope my issue is understandable otherwise im happy to explain further.
Kind regards,
Paul

Ansys EmployeeHello,
Yes, you can create a separate cell zone for that and apply energy source term. There, you can specify the heat going out of the system by simply adding negative sign before the magnitude.
And why do you need to fix the temperature values in the separate cell zone? As far as mass flow rate is concerned, you can just include mass flow outlet BC for the external radiator and input suitable mass flow rate.

SubscriberThank you very much for your response!
I was thinking about including a second mass flow from condesation as the cooling surface is lower then the condesation point of the air. However that would propably be too much to think about for a starter projekt, as i would have to consider different states of humidity in the air. Â
Therefore i will only include the sensibel cooling performance and call it a day.Â
Have a nice day and thanks again for helping me out!Â
