SubscriberI am using the porous jump boundary condition in my simulation. The application reports: 'Reverse porous jump zone 2273 orientation based on bulk flow direction...Done' after each iteration.
Is there an option to switch it off similarly to flow warnings and limiters? I guess this may increase the speed of the simulation and the above message does not say anything useful in my case.

Forum ModeratorI've not seen that one before. Can you post some images of the set up? The PJ is simply a flow resistance so shouldn't care which direction the flow is in.

SubscriberThe setup is very standard. The porous jump condition is applied to a fence-like structure, based on 40% free area. It is applied to an interior face. It is external, urban environment simulation. The solver apparently reports what I indicated and I have an impression that it slows down the calculations. I attach an image.

AdministratorHello Could you please share some details of your model set up? This message might be indicating your solution might not be physical or might diverge. What is your geometry like? Also, what is your mesh quality? What are the boundary conditions for your model?

SubscriberThanks for the comment but I think that the information you ask about is not relevant. It seems to be a solver thing that it has defined direction for the pressure jump surface and reports whenever there is recirculation on it. And it is natural that there will be recirculation on this kind of surfaces in cases where the flow nature allows it - for example on a 40% permeable security fence around a building. I think for some reason fluent does not have an option to switch off this comment/warning.

Forum ModeratorIt shouldn't slow anything down. I'll check this end to see what's causing it as your set up sounds fine. Can you post a screen shot of velocity and mesh through the fence?
