SubscriberI have constructed a packed bed of CaCO3 that interacts with CO2 in a multiphase model.Â
I have a rod inserted into the packed bed that is supposed to aid the heat transfer (or heat extraction) out of the system.ÂI have modelled this with a wall at the top of the rod (as highlighted), but so far the rod seems to be just holding on to the heat.Â
Where am I going wrong? I thought the wall condition would conduct the heat to the surroundings? Or am I not running the simulation for long enough? -

Ansys EmployeeHello Eleanor,
What is your thermal BC for the top wall?

Ansys EmployeeIf this is a Steady case and the Pseudo Time method is set to Global Time step, then it is likely that your Fluid Time scale is limiting the advancement of the solution in the solid.
In Solution tab > Methods, check the Pseudo Time Method. If set to Global Time step, go to Solution tab > Run Calculation... and increase the Solid Time Scale factor. Start by increasing it by a factor of 10 and run your simulation. See if there are any improvements. If the solution is stable, you may increase the factor beyond this.
