SubscriberHi,
I have to mesh this complex geometry to perform a CFD simulation on Fluent. This geometry was obtained from an imported stl file (faceted body) and then "make solid" tool was used to merge the faces. The geometry also contained non manifold vertex, but it think that is okay because it is a complex fluid domains derived from a boolean operation. I tried to mesh several times with different methods but every time an error occurs: "Mesh is intersecting or too close to intersecting". Does anyone know a different way or settings that i can use to solve the mesh problem?
Thank you in advance.

Ansys EmployeeFor faceted data, Fluent Meshing is best tool. nYou can find different videos on youtube about Fluent Meshing. nAlso search this forum. nRegards,nKeyurnHow to access Ansys Online Help DocumentnHow to show full resolution imagenGuidelines on the Student CommunitynHow to use Google to search within Ansys Student CommunitynJanuary 4, 2021 at 5:55 pmcfd_user12
SubscriberThank you for your answer, I will try this way. Yesterday finally, I was able to import the solid body into the mesh section but now i have another problem. The solid body is made up of so many facets so i'm not able to do the name selection of the inlet and the outlet section. I read in other post in this forum that i have to do a Skin surface and i did it but then when I imported it in to the mesh section the surface created didn't appear. I also tried to do a wrap but i when i do it i return in the situation of many facets. Do you know if there is a way to glue the new surface on the solid body? or what i have to do to see the surface in the mesh or also in the set up to be able to set the boundary conditions? Thank you for your timenJanuary 5, 2021 at 4:59 amKeyur Kanade
Ansys EmployeeWhile working with facets, it is recommended to use Fluent Meshing which can directly create a good mesh from facets. It has different workflows. nCreating geometry out of facets and then meshing it would be very time consuming. You can see SpaceClaim videos for reverse engineering for the same. nRegards,nKeyurnHow to access Ansys Online Help DocumentnHow to show full resolution imagenGuidelines on the Student CommunitynHow to use Google to search within Ansys Student CommunitynViewing 3 reply threads- The topic ‘How to Mesh Complex geometry derived from faceted body’ is closed to new replies.
