Does anyone have any information on how to make 3D shapes in Lumerical that are more complex than just rectangles or circles? The 'reference' manual as usual has a description of each menu item but does not describe how they can be used to build or define a structure/feature (https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033154434-FDTD-product-reference-manual).
For example, I have a simple cross-shaped metastructure I would like to model, as per the screenshot below. In the screenshot, I have modelled it by using two intersecting/overlapping rectangles. Is this an acceptable way of modelling it, or will Lumerical 'double-count'/experience issues with the material in the overlap region?

Thanks for your help

Dear Subscriber,
Lumerical offers a variety of predefined objects. Please refer to the Simulation Objects section in the FDTD product reference manual.
When using overlapping objects, the resulting structure is determined by the mesh order. For more details, see the Understanding mesh order for overlapping objects.
Best regards,
Kirill
