Forum ModeratorHow thick is the domain? It's rare for faceting to cause surfaces to touch unless the gaps are of the same order as the CAD tolerancing. nAugust 23, 2020 at 6:24 pmuser deleted
SubscriberThe largest distance is 75 microns, the thickness of the 30 elements, design modeler, also did geometry in parasolid-xt format but there is the same as on the first geometry, also merge these 4 sites nAugust 25, 2020 at 2:30 pmRob
Forum ModeratorScale up so gaps are 7.5mm also increase the CAD faceting (SpaceClaim File>Options>CAD/geometry to 10). CAD tools tend to be accurate to 0.1 or 0.01mm so 75microns is going to cause problems. In Fluent you can scale the mesh back to the desired size. nAugust 26, 2020 at 4:33 amSeptember 2, 2020 at 3:28 pmRob
Forum ModeratorIf those are the mesh blocks then it could be. Because of the domain size relative to the thin section you may struggle due to tolerance issues. nSeptember 7, 2020 at 5:09 pmuser deleted
SubscriberThank you, but if the tolerance and scale of the model do not affect the result, then what other ways can there be to solve the problem? nSeptember 8, 2020 at 12:37 pmRob
Forum ModeratorThe CFD solvers work to double precision, although 75microns is still quite narrow for those. I've done this in Fluent Meshing, but the method is more advanced than I'm allowed to discuss on here. However I can hint, and it involves creative use of the inflation tools. nFebruary 17, 2021 at 3:11 pmanissou
Subscriberhello, i have the same problem as you, have you been able to solve ? nFebruary 22, 2021 at 4:29 amKeyur Kanade
Ansys EmployeePlease scale up the model. nAlso use assign faces and assign edges. nIf possible please check if you can use Ansys Meshing instead of ICEM. nRegards,nKeyurnHow to access Ansys Online Help DocumentnHow to show full resolution imagenGuidelines on the Student CommunitynHow to use Google to search within Ansys Student CommunitynViewing 9 reply threads- The topic ‘How to make a mesh so that it does not have negative volume?’ is closed to new replies.
