SubscriberI want to find the location of the source of the plume by using a mobile robot. I also want to know the time the robot will take to find the location. please suggest me how I can import CFD model of ANSYS into matlab?

Forum ModeratorAs Peter mentioned in /forum/forums/topic/how-to-find-the-location-of-the-source-of-the-plume-with-the-help-of-a-robot-using-matlab/ this isn't the place to get help with Matlab. Â
In Fluent we can export data in a range of formats: what data do you want in Matlab?Â

SubscriberI want to export fluent ASCII file into Matlab, just to trace the plume through Matlab programme. Â

Subscriber Here are the steps I used to export the ASCII data from the Fluent model that computed the CO2 concentration.
In Fluent, File, Export, Solution Data... then I picked ASCII, picked the domain and selected Mass fraction of co2.
Note there is a choice of location between Node and Cell Center. I picked Cell Center.
After I clicked Write... a file was created on the disk.
You can import that into matlab using the Import Data button. I changed the range to ignore the cellnumber and set it to column vectors.
Plotting that data is difficult in matlab, but easy for me in JMP. So I opened the data in JMP and was able to make a contour plot.
Attached is the cell center exported data from the model attached to this post.
Regards,
PeterÂ
