SubscriberI am using a project that is already there in Ansys optics. The project is 1x2 MMI power coupler. I want to know how to calculate how much power has been transmitted from input to output and how much power loss happened.

Ansys EmployeeHi Adarsh,
Would you be able to tell me which solver are you using in MODE IDE? The simulation results are normalized to the source signal by default, so the absolute vaules of power are not highly relevant in linear simulations. Let's say if you have input and output ports in your simulation, the elements of S-matrix will tell you the ratio of the total power transmitted from the input to output. You can use the sourcepower script command to find the absolute value of the source power. Then you can multiply the source power by the transmission value (from S-matrix) to calculate the absolute power transmitted to the source.

Amrita
