How do we use FMG initialization in ANSYS Fluent while carrying out a compressible flow simulation?

Especially, in case of compressible flows with shocks and expansion and compression waves, is it a compulsion to go for FMG initialization?

It's not a requirement. It looks to be steady state only, and if you put "fmg" into the search box (top right of the Fluent window) you'll see the TUI commands to use.
