      Hello everyone

i am modelling RCC single span bridge in ANSYS workbench and i want to model the supports of bridge using spring constant values of 2.4kN/mm in X direction, 2.4kN/mm in Y direction, 469kN/mm in Z direction (vertical) but if i see elastic support in ANSYS it shows only one value may be vertical in unit like (kN/mm3). how can i apply 3 spring constant value which resemble the bearing pad of bridge ?

      Hi

Use 3 body-ground springs (in x y z directions), and assign these 3 constants to the 3 springs as needed.

      All the best

      Erik

        hi

        Thank you for your response.

i have seen some tuturial video related to assigning of spring in which they also assign some spring length which i dont know in my case.

        Looking for response.

      Hi

Length is not really doing anything so can be anything larger than 0 – it is only the stiffness (k) of the spring (for static, for dynamic also damping is important (cv)).
