HFSS or Q3D for integrating a model of my molex cable flat FCC 0.5meter / 15pin?

      Hello,

I would like to make a model of my cable FCC molex for integrating it to Circuit.

In my case, my rise time signals is 1ns, so my propagation delay is about 1,7/c = 5,6ns/m and for a length of 50cm, total delay is 2,8ns wich is not << 1ns... So do I need to use HFFS to get accurate values ??

In the doc, they say that it work if propagation delay is << than rise time.

Do you think Q3D will work ?

Thanks you very mich for your advice !

      Hi Alexandre,

Thanks for putting the question on Ansys Learning Forum.

In Q3D, you can simulate any geomtry whose maximum dimesion is labda/10 at the concerned frequency. If the maximum dimension is more than that, you can go for HFSS. Kindly check the dimension of the geomtry according to maximum frequency present in the sweep.
