Dear Sirs,
in the design of a HFSS model of a particular RF component I have identified a couple of drawing problems that I summarize below.
Drawing a curve of the type "x = a z^2 + b z", ranging from a zmin<0 to a zmax>0, I verified that this curve, for z = 0, does not pass by the origin of the axes, but by a generic point P(x ,0,0) whose distance x from the origin depends on how wide the curve is.
In addition, I verified that, when this curve is swiped along an arc of circumference lying on the xy plane in order to generate a surface with double curvature (both in the xy and in the zy planes), the final edge of this surface, in the zy plane, is "engorged" in the direction in which the sweep took place.
I verified also that, by sweeping the arc of circumference along the abovedescribed curve, again the final edge, lying in the yz plane, is engorged.
These two problems are not specific to the 2024 version of the HFSS code, but I have also verified them in older versions, and unfortunately, they generate drawbacks both in the design of the component models and their simulation.
To overcome the two above exposed problems, I have had to use some drawing "expedients" that introduce in the design some not parameterizable variables.
As a result, this makes impossible to use the "Optimetric" option of your code, either to perform a parametric analysis of the model or to optimize it.
Please, could you help me in solving these problems? Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Francesco Mirizzi

Your patience is much appreciated.ÂPlease share screenshots of your issue if possible to help us serve you better.ÂFor your first observation: you might be zooming onto the origin and see the trace is not passing through the origin this is just a render issue after you zoom in from a certain point. You can verify using the measure option in the draw ribbon area.ÂBest regards,Praneeth.
