Hello ANSYS Community,

I'm facing a challenge while installing the ANSYS 2024R1 License Manager and could really use some help. Here’s a summary of the issue:

Situation

During the installation, I edited the Tomcat server.xml file to set up the necessary configurations. However, the changes I made revert back to the original state during the installation process, causing the installation to fail.

Log File Highlights

The installation log includes the following warnings and information:

1. Warnings:

   • Unable to set the compressableMimeType property.
   • Warning about using an empty string for appBase on the localhost host.

2. Information:

   • Details about the Tomcat version, OS, and JVM.
   • Information on the deployment of web application directories.

Possible Issues and Actions Taken

Here are some steps I took to troubleshoot the issue:

1. compressableMimeType Property:

   • Ensured the Connector element in the server.xml file includes the compressableMimeType attribute, but the settings revert.

2. appBase Setting:

   • Checked the appBase attribute in the element of the server.xml file, but it also reverts.

3. Tomcat Directory Deployment:

   • Verified if specific applications or configuration files are correctly placed according to the log details.

4. TLD Scanning:

   • Noted information about TLD scanning in JAR files, but this doesn't seem to be the direct cause of the error.

What I've Tried

1. Rechecked the server.xml file to ensure the settings are correct.
2. Stopped Tomcat, edited the server.xml file again, but the changes reverted during installation.
3. Restarted Tomcat, but the settings were not applied.

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. If anyone has encountered a similar problem or has any advice on how to resolve this, I would greatly appreciate your input. I can provide more detailed log files and configuration details if needed.

Hello,  You should not need to edit any files for a default installation.
Is there a reason that you are editing files?
