Hello, is it possible to perform the calculation −ε0ω2Im(E∗⋅B)  and plot it (image below) using the electric field and magnetic field values obtained from a simulation?

      Thank you!

      (from the textbook chiral nanophtonics)

      Dear Subscriber,

      Is this a general question?
What software are you using? Please provide details of the simulation you are performing.

      Best regards,
      Kirill

      Hello, Thanks for the reply.

      I use Lumerical FDTD simulation.

This is a general question, I just want to extract E,H values from the simulated result and do mathematical manipulation with it (eg. E dot H or E cross H etc)

and plot the result in 2D...

      Thank you.

      Dear Subscriber,

Everything you have described is definitely possible. Please review our Knowledge Base and Application Gallery for examples: Ansys Optics. For instance, you might find the example Chiral metamaterial using gammadion-shaped structures helpful.

      Best regards,
      Kirill
