Heat transfer in porous zone in Icepak AEDT

The goal is to simplify the geometry of the heatsink by using a porous media model, so as not to model them directly.

In Fluent, it is possible to set parameters related to flow (coefficients defining momentum loss) as well as thermal parameters assuming thermal non-equilibrium between the solid and fluid in the porous zone (including the convective heat transfer coefficient and the effective contact area between the fluid and solid).

Does Icepak AEDT offer similar functionalities? What is the best approach to achieve this?

      Hi Kacper,

Thanks for your questions. This simplied heatsink approach is not supported in AEDT Icepak as it is not accurate and requires many user inputs (pressure loss, thermal resistance). It is still supported in Classic Icepak. Please check 24.3.1. User Inputs for a Simplified Heat Sink (ansys.com) if you have Classic Icepak. Thanks.
