SubscriberI am trying to model a simple steady state heat transfer problem where water is at 273 K and flowing through a uniform circular cross sectional pipe of 1mm thickness and copper material, the mass flow inlet conidtion is 0.1 kg/s, i don't seem to understand how i am supposed to give unifrom radial heat flux input to the outer surface to just heat up the pipe, i'll share the details of my geometry and setup parameters in the images below, (i have only modelled the control volume (i.e flowing fluid), and given a wall thickness to the outer surface of 1mm with copper material and 0 heat flux.):Â
1. Circular Fluid Control Volume ( Diameter = 20mm, Length = 500mm)
2. Mesh of 2 mm element size, with respective named selections:Â
3. Setup Parameters (Fluent PreProc):Â
I tried to add a heat source as aforementioned.
Methods:Â
I ran the spolution using standard initialisation for all zones for 500 iterations (solution converged at 124th iteration):Â
However the change in the temperature for area-weighted average surface integral for my inlet and outlet is almost negligible, i want to know where am i going wrong or what am i missing to simulate a heat flux input into the flowing fluid, thank you for acknowledging:Â

Ansys EmployeeHi,
I suggest you to check fluent user's guide: 15.2. Modeling Conductive and Convective Heat Transfer (ansys.com)
Hope this helps you.
Thank you.
