GPU Compatibility

      Hello,

I have a Thinkpad Lenovo laptop with the "Nvidia RTX A5500 Laptop GPU". In the following list, it is among the ones that have been tested. However, I was not able to use it on this laptop. I have the GPU driver updated for the system and am using Ansys 2023 R2. In Mechanical (Thinkpad Lenovo laptop), it says that the GPU is not on the supported list. So I tried to overwrite the command in the system environment variable, and then there was no error recognizing the GPU, but it was not still using the GPU in the simulation. Any advice would be appreciated.

Meanwhile, we are thinking of ordering one of the following GPUs: But we doubt compability. Even so, they are on the list. We may face an issue similar to the laptop. Any advice would be appreciated.

      Nvidia RTX A5500, 24 GB GDDR6
Nvidia RTX 6000 Ada Generation, 48 GB GDDR6

      Hi Shahab

You are accidentally looking at the list of supported graphics cards that can be used for regular graphics.  There is another list for GPUs that are supported during the solve process, and that RTX A5500 is not on the list.  Please check here for supported GPUs for use during solve (also take care as multiple solvers are listed):
