SubscriberHello
I have build the geometry of a bridge in Autocad, and exported to an IGES-file. Next, I import the file in Ansys APDL and set BTOL,0.01. Then I want to glue all the areas together.
However, sometimes this error occurs:
The input areas do not meet the conditions required for the AGLU
operation. No new entities were created. The AOVLAP operation is a
 possible alternative.
This is due to the fact that somewhere in my Autocad, there is a badly defined surface, and then I need to change it.
However, sometimes it is difficult to locate where the bad connection is.
Is it possible to detect where the bad connections are (and what causes the error)?

Another alternative is to merge the key points using the nummrg command. Make sure you use a small tolerance.
You can also use the GUI Menu at Main Menu>Preprocessor>Numbering Ctrls>Merge Items

When I use NUMMRG,ALL,1,1, not all surfaces are connected because some have not a common KP as shown in the picture below. Only when I use AGLUE, they are connected.
One possibility is that I split all the surfaces in the Autocad file so that they all have common KP, but that would require a lot of time because the geometry is quite large. Is there a quicker way to do this?
