geometry distortion using “merge” in Design Modeler

      Hi,

I want to use "merge" to merge inside faces together. It performs successfully but it causes my geometry distortion. The geometry that before performing "merge" is showing below.

After perfoming "merge", it becomes like that. As you can see, the curves are greatly changed.

And the settings are showing below.

I want to know why and how can I merge the surfaces? Welcome to discuss together.

Merging faces at geometry level in DM is not recommended. If these faces are not giving any problem in meshing, you can leave them as they are.

Also if you want to have then single name then please use Named Selection.

Please go through help manual for more details

      Regards,

      Keyur

Why it's not recommended to merge surfaces in DM? Is it because of the software or I can try merging faces by other software like discovery or spaceclaim?

Why do you want to merge these faces?
