I have a script for importing a GDSII file that works in the FDTD solver but it gives an "Error: ../file.lsf line 27: GDSII file not found" when trying to use it in the MODE solver. I tried running it again on the FDTD solver and it continues to work there. I based my script on the example given here https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034901933-Import-and-export-GDSII. My Lumerical version is 2023 R2.1. Is this a bug or should the script differ?

Hello Ymarin,Â
The script will work for MODE solver also. There is no bug, I tried it and its working fine in R2.1 version.Â
Make sure the GDS file you are trying to importis in the right file location/directory. Â

Devika

I tested the script from the website you gave, and it works fibe in varFDTD:
Â
could you test line by line and check what happens? sometimes it will work if you reboot your computer.
The error message says no GDS file found, meaning no GDS file is created.Â
Please try this example.https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034927093-gdsopen Â

Hi,
Thank you for replying. The FDTD and MODE solvers are executed in the same folder where the file is, so the GDS file exists and it is there. The script works inside FDTD but not in the MODE solver. I'll try rebooting when I can.
