SubscriberHi
I want to define a magneto optic material that has a varing n,k tensor in each point of space. I see the spatial varing n,k example in lumerical site. But in that example the n tensor is defined a diagonal matrix. I want to define a anisotropic space with a fully defined tensor. n_xx,n_yyn_zz,n_xy,n_xz,n ,n_yx,n_yz,n_zx and n_zy
How will be the format of defining such a tensor?

Ansys EmployeeUnfortunately spatially varying refractive index cannot be directly set for the full tensor case, since the full tensor needs to be decomposed to unitary matrix and diagonal tensor. If possible, you may try the LC attribute: https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034915153-LC-Rotation-Simulation-object
It has simple rotation relation. If your full tensor can be fit in such definition, it is doable to specify the LC attribute in space. If lucky enough this is the solution.
