SubscriberHi guys,
I am using Ansys 2020 on a laptop (Dell Latitude 7400) and the layout of Fluent (+meshing) is absolutely terrible for me. All the menus and buttons are squished together and it does not allow me to scroll up and down to see the full panes (e.g. in the picture below I cannot scroll down to reach the submit button for "Describe Geometry".)
Â
Â
I found the "culprit" for this, which is the default Windows display setting "Scale and Layout" that enlarges text on a laptop. It is per default 150% which is the recommended value.
Â
Â
If I put this to 100%, my Ansys Fluent looks great:
Â
Â
But the rest of the text on my laptop becomes absolutely tiny and illegible, including other modules of Ansys like the Workbench:
Â
Â
Weirdly enough, all other software on my laptop look great at 150% and much too small on 100%. Including other Ansys modules which look best at 150% (SpaceClaim for example).
Â
Â
 vs 100%
Â
Â
Does anyone know why Fluent is like this and if there is a workaround? It is kind of annoying to have to change my laptop's global settings just when working with this one module.
Â
Kind regards,

Forum ModeratorOdd, I'm running at 100% and the same screen res on a Dell something-or-other and Fluent's fine and SpaceClaim looks about the same as you've got on the 150% setting. What size screen is it? Also check that Fluent's using the graphics card and not the motherboard display.Â

Ansys EmployeeProbably a tad late here - but try resetting the layout of Fluent (button on the top right). There may be issues with your local layout file that's squishing the panels.Best,nMustafan
