fluent 2024R2 crashes after starting and selecting File-Preferences

it is running on a supermicro server with a very limited onboard video card, - aspeed

Not sure if it is related to windows compatibility settings for graphics - should I change the "Change high DPI settings" and overide to something

or setting the HOOPS_PICTURE = msw/win

What are the recommended settings in this case?

It tried on a second server also running windows 2022 and it also crashes when selecting File-Preferences

Please unset the environment variable
QT_OPENGL=desktop
by either renaming or preferably deleting it

you still might see an error like below in the I but I believe you should be able to open preferences once the variable no longer exists

Variable was not there, however variable QT_OPENGL=desktop was there

after deleting it, File - Preferences no longer crashed

However deleting the QT_OPENGL=desktop variable causes a problem with CFX-Pre

The right hand pane of a model is black.

For black graphics window in CFX please set the variable shown in the Note section on this page

set CFX_QT_OPENGL=desktop and now both fluent file-preferences and cfx-pre work properly.
