SubscriberI have a 5 perpetual floating license of Lumerical, and earlier today computers other than the one physically carrying the license file (and having the license manager installed) all stopped being able to access the license. The license manager is running as usual. Any guidance on how to troubleshoot?
Thanks.I have a 5 perpetual floating license of Lumerical, and earlier today computers other than the one physically carrying the license file (and having the license manager installed) all stopped being able to access the license. The license manager is running as usual. The optics launcher licenses tab on other computers still says "active". Any guidance on how to troubleshoot?
Thanks. -

Ansys Employee@szhou,Â
What is the error message (send screenshot) when you open and run the Lumerical CAD/GUI directly (outside the Optics Launcher)? >> Running the Ansys Lumerical CAD/IDE – Ansys OpticsÂ
We have this KB on how to fix FlexNet licensing errors for more information. >> Fixing common licensing errors – Ansys OpticsÂ

SubscriberHere is the error message screenshot if I open FDTD directly outside the launcher.
The optics launcher license tab still seems to be "active". Everything still works on the computer that has the license manager/license file installed, it's just the floating licenses that suddenly stopped working. Does this correspond to a particular error code? Thank you!

Ansys EmployeeError indicates that the client machin is not able to connect with the license server (LM) >> Fixing common licensing errors – Ansys Optics
Ensure that the license file/license manager is configured for shared license access as shown in the KB >> Configuring the Ansys license manager for shared access – Ansys OpticsÂ

SubscriberStill experiencing the same issue. The license file/license manager is configured for shared license access. VENDOR ansyslmd port = 1056 is added to the license file, the license server also has TCP ports 1055, 1056, and 2325 added to the exception list. I verified these again just now. The floating license had been working fine for over a year so I'm not sure why it suddenly stopped working. The hostID information of the license server has not changed either.Â

Ansys EmployeeWhich version of Lumerical are you running on the client machine? Where you got the screenshot/image below? Are you running the same version of Lumerical across all your computers? Does all the client machines have the same error message?Â
Check the Ansys LMCenter > View FlexNet licenses if the license file was updated and the ports are shown in the LM.ÂPer your message,Â
The floating license had been working fine for over a year so I'm not sure why it suddenly stopped working. The hostID information of the license server has not changed either.Â
The error indicates an issue where the client machine is not able to connect/communicate with the license server. There might have been changes on the server that is causing the connectivity issue. Please check with your IT, for any changes in the network/access/security on the license server/license manager. Consult with them and run checks like telnet/tcp connection checks between the client machines and the license server.Â
