SubscriberI have the AnSYS license manager installed on our server. I have the license file installed as well. FlexNet will not start, FlexNet Debug Log will usually show that the TCP port is already in use even though it is not used any where else but for the AnSYS software. I have even gone through and changed the standard 1055 port to a different port that I know is not in use but receive the same error message

Ansys Employeesometimes when FlexNet can't be started completely/correctly (lmgrd.exe is already run but is not 100% functioning) for any reason , the License Manager will think that's it's not started yet and will try to start it again, resulting in port already in use issue.
Check FlexNet debug log and see the original issue that causes lmgrd/ansyslmd to not start correctly and fix it accordingly.

SubscriberI have tried killing the ansys monitor process, then teh ansys server process, then the lmgrd process, then clicking Start in the license management center but get the same results. Firewall is off, 100% sure the port is not in use else where

Ansys EmployeeFor some reason , you have write permission issue in logs_backup folder.
Do you have full admin rights ?
Did you install the License Manager with 'run as administrator' ?
You can also test by running just the FlexNet part manually. Make sure all ANSYS licensing processes are not running, then open elevated CMD Prompt and issue the following command
"C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensingwinx64lmgrd.exe" -c "C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensinglicense_files" -l "C:Program FilesANSYS IncShared FilesLicensinglicense2.log"
Open the license2.log file and see if it starts. Note: You will have to manually kill lmgrd.exe and ansyslmd.exe after this test.
