We updated Workbench to 2024 R2 (from 2023 R1 or R2). We use 2 licenses.
- We had to update the licensing software to the latest version (from a 2020 version) of the first license, and it worked.
- We had to update the licensing software to the latest version of the second license, and it didn't work. Then we did what was suggested to us other times: cleanup the temp files on the AppData folder. Then it worked.
- Now the first license stopped working. We get this message when trying to open a model in a project: flex net licensing error -5 147
I think it's the same message from the first time it didn't work. I think we have "some part" of the license available, because the different analysis options of the "toolbox" bar change in accordance to one license or another.
We tried to rename the folder AppData\Local\Ansys\v242 to v242.old, as suggested in another forum post here. It doesn't work.
Ideas? Thanks.

Check if you have there is a proper connection between server and client machine, launch Ansys Licensing Settings vxx from start menu> verify the servername and port no.> hit on test, check if green check mark appear> save it> click on "feature in use tab"> verfiy if all increments are visible.
Check on server end if license server management services are ruuning.
