SubscriberHello,
We are working off of a cluster remotely, running a simulation in standalone Fluent. We were hoping to see the results from the job run to completion via a results output file.
The company which we are working with on the cluster is not sure where the file would be stored automatically by Fluent.
This job was an interactive job run on the cluster, which the company says outputs files differently than their usual patch jobs.Â
Â
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Alex.

Forum ModeratorThe files ought to save to the working folder: ie wherever you launched Fluent from. If you copied the case file from somewhere else it's possible the folder path is stored in Fluent so also check there.Â

SubscriberThank you.
As the remote access of this cluster is completely via a terminal session, the company has asked for an example of what the text for the location of the working directory would like, so we can attempt to locate it.
Â
Thanks,
Alex

Forum ModeratorThat'll depend on how your system is set: it'll be the full path and then whatever the file name of the file. Can you open the file and look in the auto save panel?Â

SubscriberWe found the path, but when the analyst working on the cluster searched for output in this directory nothing was found. Is there a default name that Fluent would save a final output file as?
Â
Thank you,
Alex

Forum ModeratorNot really. The output files may default to report-def-0 (replace 0 with any number) but otherwise everything needs to be defined.Â
If you were saving images and launched in batch (ie no GUI) there may not be any out put as the images are generated from the GUI.Â
