Hi 

I have installed optics and launcher and obtained trial license. I want to look at the ring resonator using the FDTD solver.

I tried installing the FDTD from optics launcher, it didn't work out. 

How can I view and run the simualtion of Ansys design   "ring_resonator_fdtd.lsf" ?

Hi Kirthika,

Can you tell me what is the issue? Are you getting any error while trying to create a new FDTD project from Optics Launcher? A screenshot would be helpful.

I want to open the file - https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042800213, which is a ring resonator.

I click on download and install FDTD solver from the optics solver, I get the pop-up window of contacting Ansys..

But the download doesn't start and optics launcher closes.

Hi Kirthika,

Thanks for sharing the screenshot! It seems that you haven't installed the solvers on your desktop. Can you download and then install Lumerical from the Customer Downloads page:Download Center

I downloaded optics launcher. Do I also install Lumerical_data from the same folder?

After downloading the folder, you can run the .exe file (Lumerical_Installer) to install the solvers:

Please note that the Optics chanel of this forum is for Speos and Zemax.
