SubscriberHey,
I am having issues with my fdtd-solutions not saving after auto-shutoff level is reached. The .fsp file saves when the simulation begins, however, the file is not updated upon completion. This is using lumerical version 2021-R2.3. I believe that the saving has worked in the past but no longer works. When I simulated with varfdtd (version 2021-R2.3) the simulation file will save when the auto-shutoff level is reached.
I should note that this is occuring when using the following system...
CentOS 6, Lumerical 2022R1 a intel-mpi 19.1 in headless/batch mode with xfvb as described in
Thank you

Ansys EmployeeDid this issue just happened recently with 2022 R1? Try the previous release, 2021 R2.5 or the latest release, 2022 R1.3. This could be something on a specific version. Also try running a simulation.fsp file outside Xvfb/tmux i.e. directly from the terminal:
/opt/lumerical/v221/bin/fdtd-engine-mpich2nem -t 32 simulationfile.fsp

SubscriberIt was with 2021-R1.3. I think I may have solved the issue, I found that dedicating more RAM to the job has prevented this from occuring, though I am not sure if it is a coincidence. Perhaps the job needed a large amount of RAM to save the file and just did not save? Though this is just a guess.
I have another issue however, where the simulation will not save if the auto-shutoff is not reached (and the simulation time is not reached also). For varFDTD simulations, the file will usually save regardless if the auto-shutoff, or the designated simulation time, is reached or not.

Ansys EmployeeIf the simulation job is completed, it should save the simulation file with the results. Please check the simulation_p0.log file to see if the simulation is completed.

SubscriberI did check the log file and it says that the autoshutoff was reached and that the simulation was successfully completed.

Ansys EmployeeWhat is happening with the simulation file after the job has completed? No results are shown? What is the indication that it was not saved? Or the error message? Is this happening to all FDTD simulation files? Try to run an example FDTD simulation from the Application Gallery (AG). How are you running the simulation? Do you submit to a job scheduler? Are you running a script? Can you share the script?
