We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

Fatigue Combination Tool

      Hi there,

I'm looking into the fatigue life of a structure under cyclical loading. I have data to input as forces in the x,y,z directions respectively. I am planning on using the rainflow method to input this data and use the fatigue combination tool to determine the fatigue life.

Is there a way to have 3x inputs of historic data (.dat) files in the same static structural analysis? It seems I can only input 1x .dat file per static structural. Ideally I am looking to have 3x .dat files to represent my x,y,z forces - and then sum the cumulative damage from each one.

If that is not possible, is there a way to run a seperate static structural for the x,y,z respectively and then sum the fatigue damage from each?

      Cheers,

      Ben

      Hey Ben,

Can you explain what you meant by you can only import 1 .dat file into a static structural. Because with external data module or with external model - it will allow you to import multiple files and then link it to your static structural setup.

Let me know if you meant something else.

      Thanks
