SubscriberI am currently doing a Flexural & Fatigue analysis of E-Glass/epoxy composite leaf spring. I want to know how to use the fatigue tool for composite curved structure. The results for steel came in fatigue tool but the problem in composite...?Â

Ansys EmployeeKarthikeyan,
The Mechanical Fatigue Tool only does SN and EN fatigue, which is typically applied to ductile materials. It does not have any "special" tools for composite materials.
I have seen SN applied to some composites. It can be used if a valid S-N curve can be developed. That approach does not look at fatigue at the micro level. It just assumes that the composite fatigue behavior can be represented by a S-N curve at the macro level.
In your case, click on the Show Errors button in the Mechanical GUI and it will tell the reason why.
Regards,
Sandeep

SubscriberI have also tried the workflow as follows:
ACP -> Static Structural -> ACP post -> and now the model of acp post connected to another static structural. Now when i provide the fatigue tool in solution, the solution is solved...but the acp post results give error..
any comments on this this workflow sir?
