SubscriberWhen using the patch function in Fluent to specify the second phase volume fraction of the created region, it always fails (when creating the shape of the region as Hex, it fails, while sphere or cylinder shapes succeed). When specify other parameters, such as pressure, it is normal. Is there anyone have encountered this problem before. If needed, I can upload the cas file.

Forum ModeratorYou can't patch the region or you can't create the region?

SubscriberI can create the region, the region is shown in the picture.I can't patch the region using volume fraction ,when i check the volume fraction contour after execute the patch, the contour show the volume fraction of second phase in all fluid domain is zero.

Forum ModeratorWhat initial condition did you set? It should work as you have a region with a finite volume.Â

Subscriberthis case has two phases, one is air, the other one is water(liq) and use the multiphase model. The turbulent model is k-e realizable. this is a steady simulation.

Forum ModeratorWhat did you set as the initial condition? Ie standard (if so what values) or hybrid?
