External data / Thermo-Structural analysis / Coupled field transient

I am trying to develop a transient thermo-structural analysis with strong coupling, so I am using the coupled field transient module. For my load, I am considering pressure and heat flux. Since this load varies along the length and over time, I am using external data.

However, I am unable to apply the loading to the structure. The heat flux is not recognized in the imported data, and although pressure appears as an option, when I try to apply it, I get the message: "The data in the worksheet is invalid. Please correct before proceeding to import."

I didn’t encounter any issues when using the modules separately: transient structural and transient thermal. However, I believe this would not be strong coupling, as I intend.

Could anyone confirm if it is indeed possible to use external data with coupled field transient? Also, would it truly be a weak coupling when using transient structural and transient thermal separately?

      Hi

In 2024 R2 heat flux is available - so pressure, heat flux, convection, temp., thermal condition are all available in 2024 R2 latest release - perhaps try and use the latest version.

      All the best

      Erik

      Hi Erik,

Thank you very much for the information. I will look into the possibility of changing the software version.

Regarding the other question, since pressure is available in the version I'm using, I tried applying it from the external data, but I encountered the message “The data in the worksheet is invalid. Please correct before proceeding to import.” Have you come across an issue like this before?

In the external data, I have x-coordinate, pressure, and heat flux for various time intervals. As mentioned, pressure is available, but heat flux is not. I tried applying pressure, but the error above occurred.
