SubscriberHello,
I modeled a scissor lift.
I want to check the loads in each jonction. However the local coordinate systems in jonctions rotate.
How can I keep / express the loads in the global system coordinate system ?
Best regards

Ansys EmployeeThis is a documented limitation of a Joint Probe result.nJoint ProbesnA joint defines the interface between two bodies. One of the bodies is referred to as a Reference body and the other as the Mobile body. The results from the joint measure the relative motion of the mobile body with respect to the reference body.nA joint definition also includes specification of a local ?reference? coordinate system for that joint. All results from the joint are output in this reference coordinate system.nThe reference coordinate system moves with the reference body. Depending on the motion of the reference body it might be difficult to interpret the joint results.nDecember 15, 2020 at 7:08 amRameez_ul_Haq
Subscriber, you mentioned that, 'The results from the joint measure the relative motion of the mobile body with respect to the reference body.' Well, in a fixed joint, there is no relative motion of the mobile body w.r.t the reference body, so you mean to say that the results should not be available or something, but they still are.nThe results that are shown to us for a joint are according to the moved reference co-ordinate system after the analysis has finished, right? Is there a way to know the rotation and translation that the remote point, attached to the joint reference co-ordinate system, has been through during the analysis? nDecember 16, 2020 at 10:22 ammorrowinter
Subscriberthank you. nThe displayed loads can be used directly to size the axes.n I wanted to check the vertical components to validate the model but it's a bit complicated under these conditions.nDecember 17, 2020 at 8:17 amRameez_ul_Haq
