SubscriberHi all,
I was simulating my model for 2s. It was actually liquid splashing in a large converter (10m * 6.3m) using subsonic gas flow through a nozzle. I used k-e standard turbulence model, incompressible flow and VoF model. Initial turbulence kinetic energy was 0.001 and dissipation rate 100.
I have received 'turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio of 1.000000e+05 in 1 cells' message after time step 19880 and "turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio of 1.000000e+05 in 104652 cells"Â after time step 107676. Then I have received the following messages. What could be reason behind of getting message?
Â
Unable to parse: [free
Error: undefined read macro
Error Object: ()
Error: wta(2nd) to string_eq
Error Object: (1 cells)
Â
How can I solve the turbulent viscosity ratio problem?

Ansys Employeethere may be several reasons for this.Â
make sure you have selected the correct sufficiently large domain.Â
please make sure that you have a good quality mesh. the min orthogonal quality should be more than 0.1.
make sure you give correct inputs to the solver.Â

SubscriberI encountered the same error. After 11122 time-steps and with 8878 more time-steps to go, fluent suddenly stops with the error message nUnable to parse: [freenError: undefined read macronError Object: ()nAfter restarting the calculation, the calculation coninuedand the did not appear any more by now. It was now the second time that I encountered this error. Unfortunately it seems highly irreproducible. My transient calculations last some weeks and having this error occuring unpredictably is like having a flat tire in a bicycle race.

Ansys EmployeeDear Mr Javurek as mentioned in the support call we are following on that. I opened an internal process that as it seems that for one case it became reproducible. The error might appear for very long runs, intensive I/O. The workaround I provided should to a certain extent limit the issue.

SubscriberThank you DrAmine for your reply. I only noticed an email regarding my support call where it says:Your current support request on the Customer Portal will be closed  and we encourage you to enter it on the Ansys Learning Forum. So i just followed the instrucion and entered it here. nUnfortunately I do not see where it was mentioned in the support call we are following on that, neither in my emails nor in the service request portal.nWhere can I please find the workaround you provided?n -

Ansys EmployeeI have been across that error message several times and the workaround was to use a garbage collector. I will write an email.n
