Hello,

I am having an error during the installation process of the Student v19.2 ANSYS software.

After extracting all the files from the .zip file download, I run the setup as an administrator as advised, but once I decide a location for the setup to install the software and start the install process, I am faced with this error message: "The manifest file specified for this installation does not exist. Please verify that the install was run according to documentation. File not found: uninst_data.dat". A picture is attached.

I am pretty certain I have run according to documentation, and I have re-downloaded and gone through this process about 5 times to no avail. I have even done some troubleshooting by looking at other discussions on this topic (/forum/forums/topic/file-not-found-uninst_data-dat-1/); however, they appeared to be able to solve the issue by re-downloading the software, but that has not worked for me so far.

Any suggestions? I need to download this software for a course I am taking right now, and I am losing hope for a solution.

I wonder if you have all the permissions on both installation directory and the installation package directory. Could you let us know the directories for these two ?

 Could you provide the contents of this file? If it shows a size of 0kb, try deleting it and then run your install again.

%APPDATA%Ansysv192ProdConfiguninstall_data.data file?

Hi mmadore,

The file "uninst_data.dat" appeared to have a file size of 0kb. I deleted it, and I am currently running the install again. It appears to be running smoothly without error at the time being.

I will update once the install has run through its entire process whether or not it worked completely.

hai.. may i know why the file is not found when i want to download through ANSYS STUDENT ?

The install gets tricked that the file doesn't exist but in fact, it exists with 0 kb size. So, the fix is to just remove the file

%APPDATA%Ansysv1##ProdConfiguninstall_data.data

so that the installer will start over again.

Same problem with nee also please make a video of this uninst_data error so that it can be helpful to students
